Dumpster Purchase Policy

System Standards - Update of Container Inventory Requirements

November 2022

Dear Franchisees,

The redbox+ Elite dumpster is the service differentiator for our brand and the cornerstone of the redbox+ Dumpsters service offering. We are proud to have this patented technology for our franchisees and the advantages it brings them in their redbox+ Dumpsters businesses.

Even though the Elite dumpster is the gem of our service offering, we recognize it is not always the right tool for every job and that franchisees must maintain a mix of dumpster types, and sizes, to meet customer needs. Accordingly, we have revised our minimum Elite dumpster inventory requirements for franchisees as follows:

redbox+ Dumpsters franchisees must maintain a minimum of 24 Elite dumpsters and 48 portable toilets in their inventory at all times.

This change in policy is effective immediately for all redbox+ Dumpsters franchisees. We believe this will allow franchisees to determine the dumpsters that are best suited to their business while also ensuring the integrity of the brand's key service offering.

Please contact Steve Jahner at 701-426-4965 or sj@redboxplus.com with questions regarding this change or for any equipment needs.

Used Roll-Off Truck Policy

November 2022

Dear redbox+ Dumpsters nation,

This policy supersedes and replaces the Used Truck Policy, dated May 27, 2022. Effective immediately, the redbox+ Dumpsters Used Truck Policy is as follows:

  1. Franchisees must purchase their first truck as a new truck fully equipped with the full truck equipment package, including the vac pump system, through redbox+ Dumpsters.
  2. Franchisees may purchase a used truck as their second truck, from any provider, with or without the vac pump system. New or used trucks are authorized for all subsequent truck purchases.
  3. Prior to the purchase of a used truck, the redbox+ Dumpsters President must approve the truck.
  4. Email your request to support@redboxplus.com.
  5. Provide make, model, year, miles, hours, and gross vehicle weight.
  6. Provide hoist make, model, and capacity.
  7. Include a minimum of five photos (front, rear, left side, right side, and in cab).
  8. Prior to placing the used truck into service and within 30 days of purchase:
  9. Franchisees must wrap or paint the used truck cab with redbox+ gray paint (Kenworth color code L0280EY Gun Metal) and apply redbox+ Dumpsters decals.
  10. Franchisees must weld Department of Transportation (DOT) hooks on the hoist.
  11. Waste vacuum pumps and tanks are required on the first truck from the initial purchase only.
  12. Used trucks need a permanent tarper system prior to use as a redbox+ Dumpsters truck.
  13. Franchisees must ensure used trucks are legally road-ready, safe, and capable of passing inspections per Department of Motor Vehicle (DMV), DOT, and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) standards.
  14. Prior to placing the used truck into service, redbox+ Dumpsters President must approve the color, logos, the finished condition, the tarper system, and the hooks on the hoist.
  15. Email your request to support@redboxplus.com.
  16. Provide pictures of all four sides, the tarper, and the DOT hooks.
  17. redbox+ Dumpsters strongly encourages:
  18. Aftermarket warranties (used trucks have higher operating costs than new trucks and Kenworth does not provide warranty or policy support to other manufacturers' trucks).
  19. Late model roll-off trucks (2015 and newer).
  20. Trucks with less than 200,000 miles or 10,000 engine hours.
  21. Franchisees review the service and repair history of the used trucks and have a certified mechanic conduct a full inspection prior to purchase.

PACCAR Parts Program Policy

Background

The PACCAR Parts Program (“Program”) provides not to exceed pricing on parts to repair Kenworth trucks. Often, prices on parts purchased through the Program are significantly less than can be obtained anywhere else. The Program is also accompanied by the KW Assist program which provides assistance when a Kenworth truck breaks down and needs service. The KW Assist program is only available with membership in the Program. The Program is only available to trucking companies with at least 200 trucks. The program is available to redbox+ Dumpsters through a special arrangement reached between PACCAR and redbox+ Dumpsters. Continued participation in the Program by redbox+ Dumpsters franchisees is subject to the provisions of this Policy.

Policy

In order to participate in the Program, a franchisee must meet all of the following requirements:

  • In full compliance with the franchise agreement;
  • Current on all royalty payments;
  • Agree to be fully responsible for all charges incurred for parts and service obtained through the Program;
  • Agree to pay all amounts due for parts and service obtained through the Program at the time of service;
  • Agree that if the service and/or parts are not paid for at the time they are received and the Franchisor is invoiced, the Franchisor may draw the full amount of the invoice from the Franchisee’s operating account at the same time that the next royalty payment is withdrawn; and
  • Have signed a Program agreement and acknowledgement.
  • A franchisee that is not compliant with all of the above requirements will be removed from the Program and will not be entitled to the benefits of the Program.
  • Service Procedure
  • A franchisee who is part of the Program and has a Kenworth truck that is in need of service or repair and who intends to utilize the Program must adhere to the following procedure:
  • Contact local Kenworth dealership;
  • Inform the Kenworth service representative that franchisee is part of both the Program and of the Kenworth Assist Program;
  • After truck service is complete, pay the invoice from the Kenworth dealership for the labor and materials to repair the truck; · If additional assistance is needed, send an email to support@redboxplus.com with the truck VIN, hoist serial number and a description of the problem and any pictures available.
